Perhaps you grew up with a parent that struggled with addiction.
Perhaps you’ve been bitten by a dog and rushed to hospital.
Perhaps your parents divorced when you were pretty young.
Perhaps you were forced to grow up at an early age to step in as the second parent.
Perhaps you’ve attended sixteen different schools in your life.
Perhaps you were always the new kid and never really fit in.
Perhaps you were often bullied and made fun of by several other kids.
Perhaps you lost a grandparent unexpectedly.
Perhaps you’ve lost several family members in a very short time.
Perhaps you’ve grieved the loss of an unborn child.
Perhaps you’ve experienced the emotional exhaustion that comes with knowing a loved one wants to end their life.
Perhaps you’re a single mom wondering how you’ll ever make ends meet.
Perhaps you’ve been dumped by someone you cared about deeply.
Perhaps you’ve been betrayed.
Perhaps you lost a job unexpectedly.
Perhaps you’ve experienced an abusive relationship.
Perhaps you’re grieving the loss of an estranged sibling.
Perhaps you’ve lied on the side of the road awaiting paramedics.
Perhaps you’ve been hooked up to oxygen, given life saving medications, and airlifted to hospital.
Perhaps you’ve dealt with the physical and emotional trauma of reconstructive surgeries.
Perhaps you’re having a hard time ditching alcohol but you know it doesn’t serve you.
Perhaps you’re struggling to speak your truth because you’re afraid of what people will think.
Perhaps you’ve taken care of, and subsequently watched a parent take their last breath.
Or perhaps, like me, you’ve experienced all of this.
We are not defined by what happens to us in life, but rather by how we react to it. For some, talk therapy or medication is the answer. For me, it has always been somatic experiencing modalities such as yoga, mindfulness and meditation.
Unprocessed emotions can become stuck in the body creating inflammation, pain, and further issues. It is important that we learn to tune inward and explore our thoughts and feelings with curiosity and not judgement. It’s ok not to be ok, but we need to learn how to deal with what arises in constructive ways.
For the past 25 years I have studied several unconventional healing modalities, including yoga, reiki, energy healing, metaphysics, herbalism and more.
I am not here to tell you what you need to do, but I am here to hold space for you if you need me to. Meet me where you are. Meet me on your mat. No experience necessary only a willingness to listen to the inherent wisdom of your own being.
