Aside from the aesthetic beauty of its grain, Bamboo has eco-friendly characteristics that have given it the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’s (LEED) stamp of approval.
Sustainability
Bamboo is a rapidly renewable material that only takes between 3-5 years to reach harvesting maturity, and so long as it’s harvested properly, can be done so repeatedly.
Recyclable
Bamboo products are recyclable.
Biodegradable
Bamboo products in their natural state (no varnish/paint etc.) are biodegradable.
When you are making eco-friendly decor decisions, it’s always best to consider the impact that product’s entire lifecycle has on the environment; including the manufacturing process and transportation required to bring the product to market.
